Risk Acceptability Framework used by the Advisory Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology (PDF, 97 KB)
The framework set out in this paper is used by ACART to determine whether the risks associated with a procedure are acceptable for the purposes of recommending that it be declared an 'established' procedure, that is, a procedure which does not require ECART approval.

Consultation on Aspects of Assisted Reproductive Technology : Summary of Submissions (Mar 2008)
ACART has issued the following summaries of submissions: Part One - Surrogacy Arrangements involving Providers of Fertility Services; and Part Two - Donation of Eggs or Sperm between Certain Family Members.

Annual Report 2006/07
ACART's 2006/07 Annual Report has been released by the Minister of Health. Appended is the 2006/07 Annual Report of the Ethics Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ECART).

Use Of Gametes and Embryos In Human Reproductive Research: Determining Policy For New Zealand - Research to Supplement Public Consultation on ACART's Discussion Document (PDF, 433 KB)
This study was commissioned by the Ministry of Health on behalf of ACART (Advisory Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology), to canvas views of New Zealanders on whether research involving the use of human gametes and embryos should be permitted in New Zealand, and if such research were permitted, what possible limitations should be applied.

Report on the Regulatory Framework Governing Assisted Reproductive Technologies in New Zealand (Aug 2006)
This report was prepared for the Advisory Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ACART) by Alison Douglass. It provides the committee with an overview of the regulatory context within which assisted reproductive technologies are carried out in New Zealand and how other laws interface with the Human Assisted Reproductive Technology Act 2004 (the HART Act) and the Advisory Committee’s functions under the Act.
