Advice on Aspects of Assisted Reproductive Technology: A Consultation Paper on Policy Issues(Jul 2007)
Note
:
Submissions closed on 7 September 2007.
This consultation paper seeks New Zealanders' views on the use of: clinic-assisted surrogacy, embryo donation, donation of gametes between family members, preimplantation genetic diagnosis, donated eggs with donated sperm, and gametes from deceased people.
The paper seeks feedback on the import into, or export from, New Zealand of in vitro donated human gametes or in vitro donated human embryos, and requirements for informed consent.
The Advisory Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ACART) has developed this consultation paper for two purposes. Firstly, it seeks feedback about the classification of assisted reproductive procedures and draft guidelines for the review of assisted reproductive procedures by the
Ethics Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ECART)
. Secondly, it highlights a number of related policy issues on which ACART must provide advice to the Minister of Health.
An oral submissions hearing will be held in public from 2pm to 5pm on 5 September 2007 at Turnbull House, 25 Bowen St, Wellington. If you intend to make an oral submission, please telephone or email ACART on (04) 496 2145 or
acart@moh.govt.nz
.
The closing date for submissions has been extended to
